glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the struggle for supremacy between patriarchs and the pope It is 1:20 PM Tuesday afternoon here in West Michigan. A sunny warm day today, feels like early Spring today. I should go for a walk, but all I feel like doing is dozing in one of our easy chairs. I got up this morning around 6 o'clock AM. Carol had gotten up this morning around 4 o'clock AM. I spent the morning doing the usual things like writing in my paper diary and reading 'The Wonderful Works of God' by Herman Bavinck. Carol went grocery shopping this morning and got home around 9:45 AM. Carol said the grocery store was busy, but orderly. She got everything that was on her grocery lists this morning. She did say all the hot-dogs were sold out and pancake mix (we rarely eat hot-dogs). Not much going on here. Last night the Governor put out an order for people to stay home/not leave their homes in case of emergencies. Of course people like nurses, doctors, policemen etc. . . can go to work. Grocery stores can stay home also. Carol works tonight and then is off the rest of this week. We are hoping and praying Carol does not get infected with the Coronavirus while working at the hospital tonight. This afternoon I have been reading when not falling asleep a book titled, 'Before The Storm: Barry Goldwater and the Unmaking of the American Consensus' by Rick Perlstein. Last night I mainly read before going to bed, 'Child Of Light: A Biography Of Robert Stone' by Madison Smartt Bell. Well I suppose I will close to look at a book titled, 'Thus Were Their Faces' Short Stores by Silvina Ocampo Translated from the Spanish by Daniel Balderston. 1:39 p.m. - 2020-03-24 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
