glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

union with Christ is a key theme of Pauline theology

It is 9:48 AM Monday morning in the flow of the history of redemption. It is a cold gray day here by Lake Michigan. It is not snowing right now.

Carol has gone to bed for the day. I am in my main study singing praises to the Lord Jesus Christ. "And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" Ephesians 5:18,19.

I got up this morning around 7 o'clock AM. I made a pot of coffee and messed with our main computer. Carol called to tell me she was off work and ready to come home. When we got home I made myself a pot of oatmeal for breakfast. I then wrote in my paper diary and now I am writing in my blogs. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" Matt. 5:16.

Last night I read "Postwar: A History of Europe Since 1945" by Tony Judt and watched TV shows on our Amazon Prime. I went to bed around 11:15 PM. I did watch professional football yesterday.

I got out to read this morning for devotions a book titled, "Salvation Applied By The Spirit: Union with Christ" by Robert A. Peterson.

Well I will close to drift through another day. There is nothing pressing on my mind this morning. I might leave the house this morning to visit thrift stores to look at their used books. I will close to fed the birds and see what comes next.

"[1] And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
[2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
[3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
[4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
[5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
[6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
[7] That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:1-9
