glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Varieties of Psychedelic Experience I like feeling CLEAN It is pass 2 o'clock PM Wednesday afternoon. I got out of work at Noon. On the way home I went to the bank and picked up Carol's birthday cake. I came home to find Carol working on the boy's tax forms. I gave Carol her birthday cake, present and birthday card. We are going out for dinner this evening in GR with Bethany and Josiah-wish Caleb Jon could be with us. I cleaned up and ate lunch. Carol went to bed to take a nap. She went to the Public Library this morning and bought some used books for us-she bought me Three used books for my book collection "The Diaries 1910-1923" Franz Kafka, "Samuel Johnson" a biography by W. Jackson Bate and "William James" a biography by Gay Wilson Allen. I like reading once and awhile biographies. So here I sit sore in my arms and hands typing listening to Teenage Fanclub. We do not leave here for GR till 4 o'clock. It is beautiful sunny day today which is rare this time of year. Last night we had a nice birthday dinner with Carol's mother. Carol's brother and his wife joined us for the birthday dinner. I showed my brother-in-law and his wife these books last night "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" a novel by Tom Wolfe, "Psychedelic Drugs Reconsidered" by Lester Grinspoon & James B. Bakalar, "Storming Heaven: LSD And The American Dream" by Jay Stevens, "The Psyschedelic Experience: A Manual Based On The Tibetan Book Of The Dead" by Timothy Leary, Ralph Metzner and Richard Alpert, "The Varieties Of Psychedelic Experience [The First Comprehensive Guide To The Effects Of LSD On Human Personality] by R.E. L. Masters and Jean Houston, "The Portable Beat Reader" Edited by Ann Charters and "Beat Down To Your Soul: What Was The Beat Generation?" Edited by Ann Charters. I also showed him the Box Set THE BEAT GENERATION.
