glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

the tyranny of Ivan the Terrible

It is 1:47 PM Friday afternoon here in Western Michigan. It is a gray afternoon and it is predicted to rain. It feels right now humid and damp.

I got up this morning around 6:15 AM. Carol had gotten up around 4:30 AM this morning. Carol slept down in the lower level because her younger brother spent the night with us (a long story). When I came upstairs Carol was reading and Cal had gotten up. I made oatmeal for breakfast and Carol fried eggs for Cal.

I won't go into detail about this day, because too tired. Cal left for his place around 11 o'clock AM after getting an OK from the hospital that he could drive/he had an operation to get a new lens for his right eye yesterday.

I spent the morning mainly writing in my paper diary, listening Carol and Cal talk, and reading Denis The Carthusian's Commentary on the Davidic Psalms/Psalm 79. This afternoon when not fighting to stay awake I have been reading, 'The Story of Russia' by Orlando Figes.

Last night I mainly sat around the house and read late into the night, 'Goodbye, Eastern Europe, An Intimate History Of A Divided Land' Eastern European history by Jacob Mikanowski.

There is not much else to report on this gray, humid, and damp afternoon. All one can do is keep marching to the heavenly Homeland.
