glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the moon was like a white skull drifting

It is 2:13 PM Wednesday afternoon here in south west Michigan. It is 63 degrees and partly sunny this afternoon. It rained today off and on. Right now it is partly sunny and no sign of rain approaching.

I got up this morning around 6:45 AM. When I came upstairs (out of the Lower Level our open basement) I found Carol reading the Bible.

I made oatmeal for breakfast for Carol and myself. After we had breakfast we had devotions-we have been reading for devotions through the New Testament-right now we are reading through the Gospel of John. After we read a chapter from the Gospel of John we read a prayer from a book titled, 'The Valley of Vision'.

This morning two women from Carol's Women Ministry Group gathered here to do Woman's Ministry business-Carol is on the Woman's Ministry Board-she is the Christian Education person on the Woman's Ministry Board. The women have been here since 9:30 AM and are still doing Women's Ministry business.

I have spent the morning and afternoon writing in my paper diary and reading from these books-'Transfiguration of Christ: An Exegetical And Theological Reading' by Patrick Schreiner-'Taught by God-Ancient Hermeneutics for the Modern Church' by Brandon D. Smith-'Miss MacIntosh, My Darling' a novel by Marguerite Young'-'Born Under Saturn-The Character and Conduct of Artists; A Documented History from Antiquity to the French Revolution' by Margot and Rudolf Wittknower and lastly, 'Party Going' a novel by Henry Green. Last night we went to bed around 10:40 PM and I read late into the night, 'Miss MacIntosh, My Darling'.

I am tired as usual since I woke up too early and got up too early. But I usually feel sluggish in the afternoon, so feeling like crap this time of day is not unusual for me. I am suppose to get a book delivered from Amazon today sometime before 10 PM. I will close to wait.

"[23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
[24] He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
[25] These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
[26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
[27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
[28] Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
[29] And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
[30] Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
[31] But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence." John 14:23-31
