glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the pleasures of Art It is 2:58 PM Monday afternoon here in south western Michigan. It is 42 degrees and partly sunny today. As the week goes by it is predicted to get warmer. I got up this morning around 6:45 AM. When I came upstairs Carol was getting ready for the day. This morning after Carol and I had devotions she left to do errands. I wrote in my paper diary and read from a book titled, 'Looking Unto Jesus' by Isaac Ambrose. When Carol got home I was still reading 'Looking Unto Jesus' and writing in my paper diary. I put away the volume, 'Looking Unto Jesus' and around 12 o'clock PM. I decided to read during the afternoon hours from a book titled, 'General Directions For A Comfortable Walking With God' by Robert Bolton. This afternoon I left the house to visit local thrift stores in search of used books to add to my library-I found these used books- 'Prairie Spring: A Journey Into the Heart of a Season' Natural history by Peter Dunne 'Oblomov' A Novel by Ivan Goncharov Translated And With An Introduction by David Magarshack 'The North Water' A Novel by Ian McGuire 'Abel Sanchez and Other Stories' by Miguel de Unamuno Translated and with an Introduction by Anthony Kerrigan 'West Of Sunset' A Novel by Stewart O'Nan 'Counselor Ayres' Memorial' A Novel by Machado de Assis translated with an introduction by Helen Caldwell 'Maupassant: A Lion in the Path' biography by Francis Steegmuller 'A Slanting of the Sun: Stories' by Donal Ryan '1942: The Year That Tried Men's Souls' Second World War history by Winston Groom 'Keeping An Eye Open: Essays On Art' by Julian Barnes 'Empire Of Cotton: A Global History' by Sven Beckert So this day has gone by-last night I mainly read all evening and late into the night, 'The End' A Novel by Attila Bartis Translated From The Hungarian by Judith Sollosy.
