glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The City of Light It is 2:54 PM Thursday afternoon here in Western Michigan. It is 25 degrees and cloudy right now. I left the house this afternoon to fill my car with gas and to visit local thrift stores in search of used books. I found these used books today to add to my Library- 'When I Was Cool: My Life at the Jack Kerouac School' A Memoir by Sam Kashner 'Parisian Life: Adventures in The City of Light' short stories by Edith de Balleville 'A Sea Of Words: A Lexicon And Companion To The Complete Seafaring Tales Of Patrick O'Brian' by Dean King 'Berta Isla' A Novel by Javier Marias Translated from the Spanish by Margaret Jull Costa 'Bangkok 8' Crime Fiction by John Burdett 'Maigret and the Saturday Caller' Crime Mystery by George Simenon Translated by Tony White When I got home from my wanderings I found my wife sitting in our living room messing with her cell phone. While I was away our mail came and it was a bunch of nothing. I got up this morning around 7:45 AM. When I came upstairs I found Carol doing stuff on our main computer. I had a typical morning today, wrote in my paper diary and read till late morning. I am tired as usual. Not much else to report. I mainly read last night, 'The Fortress Of Solitude' A Novel by Jonathan Lethem. I will close to drift. 3:07 p.m. - 2024-01-18 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
