glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

he who loves pleasure more than God, says in his heart that there is no god but his pleasure

It is 1:55 PM Saturday afternoon here in Western Michigan. It is a cold, dark gray, wet rainy day. It has been predicated to be sunny tomorrow, which is something to look forward to in a world filled with demonic darkness.

I got up this morning around 7:30 AM. When I came upstairs Carol was getting ready to go to a Seminar on Sex Trafficking put together the Women's Church Ministry (Covenant PCA & Central CRC). Before Carol left for the day we had morning devotions. I realize more and more I can not live one moment of life without prayer. I need the Lord's strength to get through each day. I live by faith in this global Wasteland.

I spent the morning writing in my paper diary and reading 'The Existence & Attributes of God' Volume 1 by Stephen Charnock. At Noon today I turned on our TV to watch college football. I have the game on mute so as to read, 'Magnificent Rebels-The First Romantics and the Invention Of The Self' by Andrea Wulf. Do not know when Carol will be home today.

Last night Carol went to bed early and I read late into the night from a book I received in the mail yesterday titled, 'O Death Where Is Thy Sting? Collected Sermons' by Dr. John Murray.

There is no much else to report during this brief Time Span. I will close to wait.

"When men's thoughts run also upon inventing new methods to satisfy their bestial appetite, forsaking the pleasures that are to be had in God, which are the delights of angels' pg. 213 Stephen Charnock

"[18] For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
[19] While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
[20] For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
[21] For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
[22] But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." 2 Peter 2:18-22
