an unlosable inheritance in the new cosmos

It is 10:26 AM Sunday morning in the flow of existence. I can not stop existing. I live because I am In Christ Jesus the Fountain of Life.

Carol got home from work around 9:30 AM and went to bed around 10:05 AM. She is off from work tonight. We are suppose to get hit with a blizzard this afternoon here in West Michigan.

I got up this morning around 6:15 AM. I got up made a pot of coffee and messed with our main computer. After playing with a computer I cooked myself breakfast and then listened to music. I read this morning for awhile a book titled "Reality Hunger: A Manifesto" by David Shields.

I plan to read today "A New Testament Biblical Theology: The Unfolding Of The Old Testament In The New" by G. K. Beale. I read this book last night and also "Life" A Memoir by Keith Richards. Last night I listened to music and read my books. I went to bed around 10:55 PM last night. I woke up this morning to 1/1/2012. A new year and a new month to float through. For me nothing changes. All my days are the same. I am just getting more bald and riper for death. I will here quote Beale so as to not come off being in a state of despair.

"They have been "born again" for two goals. First, they have been "born again" in order that they would be characterized as those possessing "a living hope" (1 Pet.1:3). This is not talking of a hope possessed by people who merely physically exist in this world. The adjective "living" probably explains the nature or orientation of the "hope": it is a hope shot through with focus on the final outcome of their present resurrection existence, which is consummate bodily resurrection at the very end of history. The second goal of their new birth is that they would obtain "an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you" (1 Pet.1:4). Those who will receive this inheritance are also those "who are protected by the power of God through faith for. . . salvation" (1 Pet.1:5). The inheritance is likely the full completion of their salvation by physical resurrection in a newly created cosmos, an idea again uniquely comparable to Rom. 8:18-25 (see also Eph. 1:13-14). That this is an inheritance in a new creation is evident from the adjectives "imperishable, undefiled, unfading." Revelation 21:1,4 also underscores the qualitative contrast between the old and the new creation: "I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away" (v.1); "there shall no longer be death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away" (v.4b). Many commentators have rightly noted that the background for understanding the "inheritance" in 1 Pet. 1 is the promised land that was to be Israel's inheritance, which it lost because of sin. What commentators have not noticed, however, is that this inheritance has become a foreshadowing of an unlosable inheritance in the new cosmos." pg. 324 Beale

It is going on 11 o'clock AM. I will close to wait for the next moment to come.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." 1 Peter 1:3-5
