glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

the enlightenment of the Gentiles

It is 3:23 PM Monday afternoon here in Western Michigan. It is 85 degrees, extremely dry, and sunny. I was out in our backyard hanging up wet clothes and the grass under my bare feet felt like straw.

I got up this morning around 7 o'clock AM. When I came upstairs Carol was getting ready to take Ollie for a walk. Caleb came here around 12:45 PM and picked up his/their dog Ollie. So Ollie is gone and it just once again Ma and Pa.

I spent the morning mainly writing in my paper diary and reading Denis The Carthusian on the OT Psalms. Carol left this morning to do some grocery shopping. While she was gone I filmed a video for my Youtube channel/Monday Reads.

This afternoon I have been messing with our main computer/watching videos on Youtube and reading from a book titled, 'Cosmic Scholar-The Life and Times of Harry Smith' by John Szwed. Today is Labor Day so there has been no mail delivered today.

Last night I watched College Football on mute and read, 'Losing Nelson' a novel by Barry Unsworth.

There is not much else to report. Our neighbor's who sold their house and are now completely moved out. On the 7th of this month September the lady who bought their house is suppose to move in. We have been told she is an older divorced school teacher who wanted to live in town/near where she teaches. It is kind of sad to see a neighbor's moving after seeing them/Jim and Sandy/their two boys now married with children/ for over 33 years. But Carol and I have over the years seen people move onto our street/mainly single older women. There are now on our street six single older women.

I will close to drift. Carol is now taking a nap. All we can do is wait.

"[11] For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
[12] Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
[13] And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
[14] But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
[15] But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
[16] Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
[17] Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
[18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Corinthians 3:11-18
