glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

regeneration of a person by grace produces a completely new spiritual man

It is 3:15 PM Sunday afternoon here in Western Michigan. It is 40 degrees, damp, and gray. I hope we have at least one sunny day this week. I always feel better inside when the sun is shining. I do get weary of constantly hearing buzzing in my left ear due to tinnitus! Carol and I are constantly praying for the Lord to heal me of this tinnitus. How I miss hearing only reality silence. I have to live non-stop with noise in my left ear.

I got up this morning around 8 o'clock AM. I came upstairs to find Carol getting ready for church. Carol had to be at her church at 9:15 AM to set up for morning coffee. I made a pot of oatmeal for our morning meal. We are thankful for oatmeal. After breakfast we had devotions and then we prayed. This year (2023) we are reading together for devotions in the morning from a book titled, '365 days with Calvin (John Calvin) "A unique collection of 365 readings from the writings of John Calvin, selected and edited by Joel R. Beeke."

After Carol left for church I wrote in my paper diary and read from a book titled, 'The Spiritual Life' by Campegius Vitringa Translated And Edited By Charles K. Telfer Foreword By Richard A. Muller. Carol got home from church around 1:30 PM. This afternoon I have been watching professional football on mute and reading from a book titled, 'Dwight Macdonald and the politics Circle' literary biography by Gregory D. Sumner. Last night we watched college football and I read till I went to bed from a book titled, 'The Last Utopians-Four Late 19th Century Visionaries And Their Legacy' by Michael Robertson.

Well I suppose I will close to watch football and read. I am tired as usual. Tomorrow I do not volunteer at the Book Nook our local library used bookstore because the Public Library is closed.

"[1] Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
[2] But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
[3] But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
[4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
[5] For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
[6] For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
[7] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." 2 Corinth. 4:1-7
