glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- working-class internationalism It is 4:43 PM Monday evening here in the state of Michigan. It was a cold gray gloomy day. At least it did not snow or rain today. We should count our blessings one by one. I got up this morning around 7:10 AM. When I came upstairs I found Carol making a dish to take to a late breakfast gathering of friends/the Board. After meeting with her friends she was planning to take a plate of cookies and a batch of peanut brittle to an old friend who lives South of us. I left to volunteer at our local library used bookstore The Book Nook around 9:40 AM. The Book Nook was not real busy so I read from a book titled, 'How I Became A Socialist' by William Morris. While at the Book Nook I bought a 29 Volume Set of 'The Comedie Humaine' Scenes from Parisian Life By Honore de Balzac. I also bought a paperback at the Book Nook titled, 'The Russian Debutante's Handbook' A Novel by Gary Shteyngart. In the mail this afternoon I received a new book titled, 'The Science of Sacred Theology' Complete In One Volume By Emmanuel Doronzo, O.M.I. Last night I read before going to bed, 'The Last Utopians: Four Late Life 19th Century Visionaries And Their Legacy' by Michael Robertson. I suppose I will close for the present. It has been a long day. 5:06 p.m. - 2022-12-12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
