glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

they shall be a portion for foxes

It is 12:31 PM Sunday afternoon here in Western Michigan. It is a cold sunny afternoon. One can see Autumn colors in the trees these days. The leaves are already falling from the trees.

I have a normal morning. I got up around 7:49 AM this morning. When I came up out of our lower level basement where I sleep I found Carol getting ready to take Ollie for a morning walk. When she got back from walking Ollie we prayed and Carol left for church.

I spent the morning writing in my paper diary and reading from book titled, "Quid Gloriaris In Malitia" Commentary On The Davidic Psalms' Volume III Psalms 51-75 By Denis The Carthusian Translation & Introduction by Andrew M. Greenwell. In this commentary on the Davidic Psalms I am on Psalm 63-

Pss.63
[1] O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
[2] To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
[3] Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
[4] Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
[5] My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
[6] When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
[7] Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
[8] My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
[9] But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
[10] They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
[11] But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Last night Carol got home around 5 o'clock PM from her get away with two of her old girlfriends. Carol was tired and glad to be home. Next week Saturday Carol leaves to visit our daughter Beth and her family in Denver CO for eight days.

I read last night before going to bed from a book titled, 'Memoirs From Beyond The Grave 1768-1800' by Francoise-Rene De Chateaubriand Translated from the French by Alex Andriesse.

Carol just got home from church so I will close for the time being.
