Adam and his wife, Christ and His church

It is 11:45 AM late Sunday morning here in West Michigan. It is one of those very rare sunny days in the month of December. I am hoping the sun does not disappear. It is 42 degrees and the snow has mostly gone away for now.

I got up this morning around 7 o'clock AM. I got up to find my wife reading in the living room. Carol had breakfast while I sat across from her seeking to wake up. Carol read Tripp's book 'New Morning Mercies' for devotions and we prayed. Carol left for church around 8:30 AM. I spent the morning writing in my paper diary and reading from these books-

'The Spiritual Marriage Between Christ And His Church And Every One Of The Faithful' By Girolamo Zanchi Translated And Introduced By Patrick J. O'Banion

'The Life Of Jesus Christ' Part Two Volume 1, Chapters 1-57 By Ludolph Of Saxony Translated By Milton T. Walsh

'Reformed Systematic Theology: Spirit and Salvation' Volume 3 By Joel R. Beeke & Paul M. Smalley

'A Treatise On True Theology' By Franciscus Junius Translated By David C. Noe Introduced By Willem J. Van Asselt Foreword By Richard A. Muller

Do not know when I will see Carol again. She had to set up for church coffee and then take down after church coffee. This afternoon we will watch Professional Football.

Last night Carol went to bed around 8:25 PM and read late into the night from the book, 'The Spiritual Marriage Between Christ And His Church And Every One Of The Faithful' By Girolamo Zanchi Translated And Introduced By Patrick J. O'Banion.

I suppose I will close to enjoy the sunlight before it becomes dark once again.

"[20] Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
[21] Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
[22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
[23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
[24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
[25] Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
[26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
[27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
[28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
[29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
[30] For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
[31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
[32] This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
[33] Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband." Ephesians 5:20-33
