glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the rapturous experience of seeing God in the cloud It is 1:07 PM Tuesday afternoon here in west Michigan. It is 83 degrees and cloudy gray sky. It is also humid today. I am sure I will turn on this afternoon our central air system so as to cool down the house. I have had thus far a normal day. I spent the morning writing in my paper diary and reading from these books- 'Seeing God: The Beatific Vision in Christian Tradition' by Hans Boersma 'A Commentary On The Song Of Songs' by Saint Gregory of Nyssa Translated with an Introduction by Casimir McCambley OCSO 'The Life Of Moses' by Gregory of Nyssa [The Classics Of Western Spirituality] 'From Glory To Glory:Texts From Gregory Of Nyssa's Mystical Writings' Selected and with an Introduction By Jean Danielou, S.J. Translated and Edited By Herbert Musurillo, S.J. I left the house this morning to visit a friend/Tim and then to check out local thrift stores in search of used books-I found these used books this morning- 'The Ranger' A Quinn Colson Novel/Crime Fiction by Ace Atkins 'Guitar: An American Life' by Tim Brookes 'Democracy An American Novel' by Henry Adams 'Driving on the Rim' a novel by Thomas McGuane 'A Dual Autobiography' by Will and Ariel Durant 'Bloody Mary: The Life of Mary Tudor' biography by Carolly Erickson After visiting thrift stores I came home. When I got home it was 12:43 PM and now it is 1:18 PM. Last night I made a video and read from a novel titled, 'Dissident Gardens' by Jonathan Lethem. I went to bed early last night. Lately I just want to close my eyes and doze. I am an old man. I will close for the time being. Tomorrow is August 1, 2018.
