glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- vampires in the lemon grove It is in the cold icy death flow 12:47 PM Tuesday afternoon. Outside it is cold and sunny right now. It has been snowing off and on all morning today. I need to go for my daily walk after I write here/in my online diaries. I am falling asleep so I better get to the point. I got up this morning around 7:15 AM. I got up made myself a portion of oatmeal for breakfast. I ate my oatmeal messing with our main computer. After messing with our main computer I wrote in my paper diary and got ready to go to a used books sale in Zeeland Michigan. I was not sure if I would go to this used books sale since it was snowing this morning, but I decided to take a deadly risk. We all have to live dangerously sometimes before we are killed off. As I was leaving for the used books sale Carol arrived home from work. I decided to drive the car and not drive my old Dodge van to the used books sale. So Carol got out of the car and I kissed her good-bye and left. Carol said Have Fun. I do not believe in fun. I do not like the word fun. To me life is a living ordeal/being nailed to a Cross. When I got to the used books sale it was 9:05 AM and there were few people in line. I stood waiting for the used books sale to start at 9:30 AM. I always see the same people at these used books sales/book dealers/house wives/old men like me. Here is a list of the used books I bought today for our library- 'Vampires In The Lemon Grove And Other Stories' by Karen Russell 'Running After Antelope' stories by Scott Carrier 'North Country: A Personal Journey Through The Borderland' travel memoir by Howard Frank Mosher 'How the Other Half Lives: Studies Among the Tenements of New York' by Jacob A. Riis (first published in 1890) Penguin Classics 'Sean O'Casey Autobiographies 1 I Knock At The Door, Pictures In The Hallway' Drums Under The Windows' 'Sean O'Casey Autobiographies 2 Inishfallen, Fare Thee Well Rose And Crown Sunset And Evening Star' 'The River Congo: The Discovery, Exploration, and Exploitation of the World's Most Dramatic River' by Peter Forbath 'Faster: The Acceleration Of Just About Everything' by James Gleick 'Matisse, Picasso, Miro-As I Knew Them' biography by Rosamond Bernier 'Bohemian Paris: Picasso, Modigliani, Mattisse, and the Birth of Modern Art' by Dan Franck 'The Pregnant Widow' a novel by Martin Amis 'Collected Stories' Ellen Gilchrist 'Thames: The Biography' by Peter Ackroyd 'Bruce' a biography Bruce Springsteen by Peter Ames Carlin 'The Landmark Thucydides: A Comprehensive Guide To The Peloponnesian War' Edited By Robert B. Strassler 'Gotham: A History Of New York City To 1898' by Edwin G. Burrows & Mike Wallace These are the used books I got today for our library. I spent around $10.00 for all these used books. Not bad of a deal for such intellectual treasures. Well I am completely blown out. Last night made two videos for my Booktube channel and read 'The Royal Family' a novel by William T. Vollmann. I got to shut the door and gather my wits. 1:15 p.m. - 2018-03-13 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
