glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

the last days of the Soviet Empire

It is 4:24 PM Tuesday early evening or late afternoon here in West Michigan. It is 64 degrees on this cloudy sunny Autumn evening.

I had a long day and I am presently ready to cash in my chips. I got up this morning around 6:30 AM. I made a pot of coffee and ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast. I next messed with our main computer and wrote in my paper diary.

Carol got home from work around 8:21 AM and went to bed around 9 o'clock AM. I read some more of 'The Decameron' by Giovanni Boccaccio. I left the house around 10 o'clock AM to visit local thrift stores and to pick up a prescription. At thrift stores I found only three used books to add to our library-

'Lenin's Tomb: The Last Days Of The Soviet Empire' by David Remnick

'American Jennie: The Remarkable Life of Lady Randolph Churchill' biography by Anne Sebba

'Sevenneves' a novel by Neal Stephenson

I was home by 11 o'clock AM. While I had been gone Tim called and left a message for me to call him back. So I called Tim back and as I was ending our conversation the men drove up who were to install our new doors.

The doors are now installed and it looks nicer. I took Tim to a grocery store after the door installers left. So has gone this day thus far. Right now Carol is home in the kitchen talking to herself. I am falling asleep so I will close to feel drained.
