the imitation of Christ

Today is a Thursday and I drove my friend brother Tim out into the country so he could get some of his books this morning. Tim keeps most of his books at his brother Tom's homestead in an apartment above his brother's workshop. Tim gave me have these books from his book collection-

"Virgin Soil" a novel by Ivan S. Turgenev

"A History Of New York" by Diedrich Knickerbocker (Washington Irving)

"Coleridge Poetry & Prose With Essays by Hazlitt, Jeffrey, De Quincey, Carlyle & Others"

"The Imitation of Christ" By Thomas A Kempis a very old hardback edition

"The Penns Of Pennsylvania And England" biography by Arthur Pound

"Heaven and Its Wonders and Hell" by Swedenborg

"Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth" by Dr. C.I. Scofield

"A Tale Of A Tub, The Battle Of The Books And Other Satires" by Jonathan Swift

"The Cloister And The Hearth" a novel by Charles Reade

"All the Little Live Things" a novel by Wallace Stegner

"Catherine The Great" a biography by Henri Troyat

"Letters from the Earth" by Mark Twain

"The Kreutzer Sonata And Other Stories" by Leo Tolstoy

"The Fall Of The House Of Habsburg" European History by Edward Crankshaw

"The Voyage Out" a novel by Virginia Woolf

"Europe in the Seventeenth Century" by David Ogg

"Laxdaela Sage" Penguin Classics

"Melville: His World and Work" biography by Andrew Delbanco

"Pilgrimage: An Image Of Medieval Religion" by Jonathan Sumption

"The Decameron Of Boccaccio" Illustrated published by The Bibliophilist Society London

"Russia and the West under Lenin and Stalin" by George F. Kennan

"The Science of Life" by H.G. Wells published in 1934

After being at Tim's brother's place for a couple of hours we drove back into town and stopped at the Salvation Army thrift store and got purchased these used books for our library-

"Doctor Faustus:The Life Of The German Composer Adrian Leverkuhn" a novel by Thomas Mann

"Open Secrets" Stories by Alice Munro

"Diary" a novel by Chuck Palahniuk

"The Spanish Inquisition: A Historical Revision" by Henry Kamen

"Right Reason" essays by William F. Buckley Jr.

After Salvation Army we went to a Burger King for lunch and after lunch we went to Staples Office Supply store so I could get folders, paper, and pens. It is back to school time sales so I got a year's worth of folders cheap. Since I am always writing I constantly need paper and pens. I am a diary writer.

After Staples we drove to Tim's place and unloaded his books and took them up to his apartment. After helping Tim with his load of books I came home to sweat and catalog the books I got today into my LibraryThing site. Carol left to visit a friend and existence keeps decaying. I will close to feel hot and wasted. No way out.
