glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- american dreams It is Wednesday afternoon. The gray clouds have come in from the Lake this afternoon. I might rain this evening. I have had a normal day thus far. My wife and I went out for breakfast this morning. After breakfast we went for a walk at Kollen Park and did errands. While we were out doing errands we stopped at thrift stores so I could look at their used books. I found these used books today to add to our library- "Radical Visions & American Dreams: Culture and Social Thought in the Depression Years" by Richard H. Pells "April 1865: The Month That Saved America" A Civil War Saga by Jay Winik "The Magic Lantern: An Autobiography" by Ingmar Bergman "The Hole In The Flag: A Romanian Exile's Story Of Return And Revolution" by Andrei Codrescu "Little Big Man" a novel by Thomas Berger "The Everlasting Story of Nory" a novel by Nicholson Baker "Deliberate Regression" The disastrous history of Romantic individualism in thought and art, from Jean-Jacques Rousseau to twentieth-century fascism by Robert Harbison "A Suitable Boy" a novel by Vikram Seth There is not much else to report today. I am feeling out of it. Nothing going on. Existence is zooming by! Yesterday I mainly read "10:04" a novel by Ben Lerner. Well, I will close to face what comes next. No way of escape. "For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread" 2 Thess. 3:11,12 9:07 p.m. - 2015-04-29 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
