Eerdmans Bookstore

It is now in the flow of existence 3:26 PM Monday afternoon. We are home from Grand Rapids. We left here around 11:30 AM and got into Grand Rapids around Noon. We went to Calvin College first to pick up from Andy's mother the stroller, baby car-seat and playpen. After Calvin College we over to Eerdmans Bookstore so I could look at their books/Eerdmans publishes Christian books and has one of the best Christian bookstores in West Michigan. One of my favorite places to go to as a Christian is Eerdmans Bookstore. I have spent a ton of money at Eerdmans over the years. The last time I was at Eerdmans I bought these books-

"The Acts Of The Apostles" [The Pillar New Testament Commentary] by David G. Peterson

"Paul the Missionary: Realities, Strategies, and Methods" by Eckhard J. Schnabel

"The Heresy Of Orthodoxy: How Contemporary Culture's Fascination with Diversity Has Reshaped Our Understanding of Early Christianity" by Andrea J. Kostenberger

"Orthodox Prayer Life: The Interior Way" by Matthew The Poor

"Key Events In The Life of the Historical Jesus: A Collaborative Exploration of Context and Culture" Editors Darrell L. Block & Robert L. Webb

"The Spirit And Christ In The New Testament & Christian Theology" Editors I. Howard Marshall, Volker Rabens, & Cornellis Bennema

Today at Eerdmans Bookstore I only bought three books-

"The Second Letter To The Corinthians" [The Pillar New Testament Commentary] by Mark A. Seifrid (I wanted this commentary on Second Corinthians to read Seifrid's comments on the New Covenant as set forth in Second Corinthians chapter 3.)

"The Death of the Messiah and the Birth of the New Covenant: A (Not So) New Model of the Atonement" by Michael J. Gorman (Three of my favorite Christian books were written by Michael J. Gorman, "Cruciformity: Paul's Narrative Spirituality of the Cross", "Apostle Of The Crucified Lord: A Theological Introduction To Paul & His Letters" and "Inhabiting the Cruciform God: Kenosis, Justification, and Theosis in Paul's Narrative Solteriology".)

"History and Spirit: The Understanding Of Scripture According To Origin" by Henri De Lubac (Recently I have been reading Henri De Lubac's three volume work "Medieval Exegesis: The Four Senses Of Scripture".)

After Eerdmans we drove to East Town in Grand Rapids and ate lunch at the Pita House. Then we came home to go through the rest of day. Carol skyped Beth and Lousia and now she is skyping Emily and Josephine. I am down in the lower level messing with my books. Well, I will close to rest my overcrowded brain.
