glorycloud's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- we are reflections of God produced by His energies It is 2:56 PM Monday afternoon. Carol has gone to bed without me. She works tonight and needs her sleep and not her lover man. Josiah and I went to Mt. Pisgah Dune Park and walked to the top to experience the wind and see the waves on Lake Michigan. On the way home we stopped at a used bookstore to look around. I bought a used book titled "Flash Backs: An Autobiography" by Timothy Leary for my Timothy Leary book collection (also for my LSD collection-in when I was in High School I as an acid head-never had flashbacks unless this is a flashback?). Beth was home when we got home from our trip to Mount Pisgah. She went to the dentist and Josiah is down in the basement. In the mail today I received my Winter issue of Magnet music magazine. I got up this morning around 4:34 AM so right now I feel fried. I need to go to bed and experience something physical and not mental. Old men dream of love often when it is cold outside and nobody in the dead world wants your spiritual gifts. This morning when not falling asleep I read with much spiritual profit a book titled "The Hidden Man Of The Heart (1 Peter 3:4) The Cultivation Of The Heart In Orthodox Christian Anthropology" by Archimandrite Zacharias. Right now everything makes me sick so I read books witten by monks. I do not know what I will do the rest of my existence to keep myself awake? It is a mystery to me, but I take comfort knowing if I pray earnestly the Lord will reveal to me the reason why He created me. So this afternoon as I wait for the Pre-trib. rapture I can read stuff by a monk, a dead acid head and indie rockers. I am on my way to a overflowing spiritual life. The Lord has promised us an abundant life. "The putting off the old man with his deeds, that is the fight against the passions, is certainly a negative aspect of the process of catharis; but we are also exhorted to undertake something positive: "Put on the new man which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him' (Col. 3:10). We begin to understand that Christ, the new Adam, is Himself the authentic image of God in man. Christ reveals Himself as the express Image of God, because God is revealed to us in His Flesh, and we come to realise that man is in the image of Christ. Man is in the image of the Image, as the Fathers say; we are not the image of God, because then we would be of one essence with God, but we are in His image, that is to say, we are reflections of God produced by His energies. Moreover, when God's image is cleansed in him, man overcomes all the divisive consequences of the fall, so that in him 'there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all' (Col. 3:11). In other words, Christ becomes our life and, as St. Paul says, we no longer live, but Christ lives in us (cf. Gal. 2:20). . ." pg. 119 Archimandrite Zacharias I will close to gather my wits. music: Magnet New Music Sampler Volume 50 (I have Magnet New Music Samplers from Volume 13 till Volume 50-I have a lot of music in my music collection!) 3:23 p.m. - 2008-12-29 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
