glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

old age sex death

It is 2:54 PM Monday afternoon. It is 72 degrees and mostly sunny. A good day for a hanging.

I got up this morning around 7:45 AM. When I came up out of the Lower Level (the hole) I found my wife dressed for the day reading her ESV Study Bible in our living room.

I wrote in my paper diary and then made for my wife and I a pot of oatmeal for breakfast. I rather have oatmeal for breakfast than a chunk of old moldy bread and three raw potatoes for breakfast.

Carol and I had family devotions after breakfast. After devotions I spent the morning writing in my paper diary and reading from a book titled, 'Ancient Wisdom for the Care of Souls: Learning the Art of Pastoral Ministry from the Church Fathers' by Coleman M. Ford & Shawn J. Wilhite.

I put away at 12 o'clock PM the book 'Ancient Wisdom for the Care of Souls' and went out in our front yard (sat in our garage with the garage door open) to read, 'Wonder Confronts Certainty: Russian Writers on the Timeless Questions and Why Their Answers Matter' by Gary Saul Morson. Nothing came in the mail this afternoon to make me feel king for the day.

Last night Carol and I watched professional football till 10 o'clock PM and then read 'Matthew: Expository Thoughts On The Gospels' by J. C. Ryle. I went down in the Lower Level around 10:10 PM and read till 11:30 PM 'A Glastonbury Romance' A Novel by John Cowper Powys.

I will close for the day. It is all coming to an end.
