glorycloud's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

an intensely American work in the Emerson, Thoreau, Whitman Edenic tradition

It is 1:58 PM Friday afternoon here in Western Michigan. It is a cold sunny day. I saw a flower today growing in our backyard, a sign of the coming of Spring 2024. I was in our backyard this afternoon sawing up fallen tree branches to drag out into the street.

I got up this morning around 7:15 AM. When I came upstairs I found Carol doing our monthly accounts. I had a normal morning. I wrote in my paper diary and then Carol and I had devotions. After devotions Carol left to do some errands and I filmed a video for my Youtube channel Friday Reads & New Books.

I decided around 12 o'clock PM to go outside in our backyard to saw tree branches. I did that chore and then came in the house to recover from yardwork and to eat something. So has gone by existence thus far today.

I will close to drift. I am tired and need to sit and stare off into space. Last night I mainly read late into the night from a book titled, 'American Fictions 1940-1980: A Comprehensive History and Critical Evaluation' by Frederick R. Karl. Last night Amazon delivered this book that I had ordered titled, 'The Freaks Came Out To Write: The Definitive History of The Village Voice the Radical Paper That Changed American Culture' by Tricia Romano. Do not know what I will read this afternoon since I am tired.
